The Great Stour Riverfest

The Great Stour Riverfest is back for 2024 and booking for events is open. The festival runs from Saturday 14 to Sunday 22 September and celebrates all things environmental, historical and cultural about our city’s beautiful river.

It’s an action-packed week with plenty of fun, educational and practical events for people of all ages to get involved in and enjoy, from punting tours and river walks, to arts and crafts sessions, river-dipping and evening talks.

All events are free of charge, but spaces at many events are limited, so make sure you book your favourite activities here

The festival opens on Saturday 14 September with a fair in the Westgate Gardens – no tickets are required for this opening event and everyone is welcome! Come along to find out more about the Great Stour, watch demonstrations and take part in hands-on activities for all the family.

You can also sponsor a duck for Rotary Club of Canterbury UK’s much-loved annual duck race, which brings the festival to a close on Sunday 22 September.
